Between the North Sea coast and Haarlem, from Zandvoort to IJmuiden, the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park stretches over about 3,800 hectares. An oasis of calm between the bustling Randstad and the wide North Sea beach.
National Park Zuid-Kennemerland is one of the twenty-one National Parks in the Netherlands. It was created in 1995 from a partnership of the site managers Natuurmonumenten, Staatsbosbeheer, PWN , private owners, IVN, the surrounding municipalities of Zandvoort, Haarlem, Bloemendaal and Velsen and the province of North Holland. This partnership focuses on the protection and natural development of this special dune area. In addition, the partners want local residents and visitors to be able to enjoy and learn about nature.
